Yes Loans & Mortgages was formed in September 2001 to provide a secured loan packaging service to local mortgage intermediaries. There were just 3 people on the payroll and 30 introducing brokers. Now trading as y3s, the company employs 55 people in secured loan, life insurance and debt management sales, processing, compliance, accountancy, quality control and IT, and services hundreds of mortgage brokers, IFA's, and customers each month.
y3s won a government grant of £300,000 to relocate to a purpose-built high tech premises in March 2005, then became one of the HOT 100 Welsh companies to work for in 2006, and won Orange National Employer of the Year in 2007. The company has featured in the Fast Growth 50 listings of Welsh businesses for three years in a row and this year was given an award for 'Sustainable growth over a three year period' and 'Fastest growing regional business – financial services sector'. In 2007 y3s completed the majority acquisitions of two other successful local brokerages, Intelligent Loans Ltd and b2b Loans & Mortgages Ltd. In 2008, the board of directors bought out the remaining shareholders and created The y3s Group, the holding company for its business interests.
In 2009, the Group sold its majority interest in Intelligent Loans Ltd and bought out the minority interest in b2b Loans & Mortgages Ltd., making 100% of its business interests group owned. Two new businesses, y3s Life and y3s Debt Rescue were formed to take advantage of new and rising markets following the liquidity crisis which made lending, previously the core business, much more difficult.
